Your role
The Advisor, Fleet is responsible for providing operational support to key business stakeholders across the Corporation.

Specifically, the incumbent evaluates & maintains all fleet program for the Corporation, solves problems on a variety of issues and recommends appropriate actions & solutions.

The incumbent takes part in the negotiation of service contracts by providing an assessment of CBC/Radio-Canada's fleet needs.

The incumbent also will create and deploy the green strategies and initiatives related to his program, leads the implementation and operationalization of our supplier relationships for fleet operations with our fleet operator (Fleet management company, aka FMC) among other suppliers.

Finally, the position is responsible for leading projects and making recommendations on green initiatives and the establishment of rules, procedures, guidelines & policies, such as our corporate policy on fleet.


Key Responsibilities

Fleet:


  • Procures, operates, and oversees the Agreement with the Fleet Management Service Provider, including acting as liaison and managing the relationship; ensuring the resolution of all issues; and, monitoring their performance to ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of the Agreement. You are responsible for the management of the fleet of more than 600 vehicles and have a great influence on its efficient operation.
  • You provide your leadership & expertise to the 17 internal local coordinators, regional management and drivers of the vehicles. These individuals will rely on you for advice and stewardship in order to ensure a safe and efficient fleet operation.
Some of your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Review and update the corporate automotive policy on an annual basis,
Select the vehicle models offered for the fleet and negotiate the conditions related to the selection of these vehicles with the car manufacturers including efficient, hybrid and electrical vehicles,
Support the corporate sustainability program with initiatives around sustainable mobility solution, charging station and solution,

Analyze expenses related to the use of a vehicle from the automotive fleet on corporate credit cards and provide optimization.

Ensure that spending is within allocated budgets,

Prepare monthly automated reports related to the vehicle fleet for all related services or any other ad hoc report such as fixed assets and greenhouse gas/zero emissions.

Operate, and oversee the management of fleet, in order to:
  • Optimize vehicle utilization, while meeting operational requirements,
Minimize investment in vehicles,
Minimize operating costs; and

  • Creates, present and lead short, medium

- and long-term strategies.
  • Provides innovating approach with strong data analysis and communication

Corporate Policy and Guidelines:


  • Recommends changes and updates to the corporate policy for the fleet management activities of the Corporation. Provides advice & guidance to key business stakeholders on corporate fleet policy, rules, guidelines & processes.
  • Recommends changes, reviews, communicates and enforces guidelines on fleet management in consultation with fleet coordinators and operations managers, including, but not limited to: general rules, responsibilities, allocation and usage, use of fleet management card, training, ordering and procuring vehicles, customization, renewing registration, vehicle replacement, etc

Planning & Projects:


  • Considering CBC/Radio-Canada's future needs, plans for and issues innovative solutions and/or recommendations. Keeps informed of best practices and current initiatives with other organizations and makes recommendations for the Corporation.
  • Establishes, develops, and maintains the longterm, corporatewide vehicle acquisition plan as part of the Corporation's annual capital planning process in consultation with fleet coordinators and operations managers

Procurement:


  • Reviews all fleet acquisition requests to ensure that all acquisitions are procured and managed in compliance
