We are looking for a Procurement Specialist to implement various procurement strategies to support value-creating projects.

About the role.

Lead procurement projects according to our strategic procurement process;
Actively execute work to plan and track progress against priorities, find solutions to obstacles;
Deliver projects within acceptable timeframes as a key component of meeting business unit expectations;
Have exceptional negotiation skills, and be able to lead negotiations and develop complex negotiation plans for approval.
Ensure all projects are captured by Ariba and meet all requirements set out in Rio Tinto Group and Rio Tinto Procurement policies, standards and guidelines;
Build trust with stakeholders by establishing clear agreements, seeking regular feedback and meeting commitments to achieve common goals;
Follow up on Momentum initiatives.
Participate in change management in the plants during the implementation of new contracts or new suppliers

Requirements to be considered.

5+ years of relevant experience in procurement
Negotiation, analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to develop and implement category management strategies
Excellent interpersonal skills, including presentation, written and oral communication skills; initiative, team player and positive attitude
Sensitivity to anticipate regional impacts and potential effects on the organization.
Ability to introduce our zero injury safety culture into procurement processes.
Strong Excel spreadsheet skills (able to create management tools such as modeling and scenario analysis, etc.);
Strong analytical ability and the ability to effectively collect and compile data;
The ability to communicate verbally and in writing succinctly with internal and external stakeholders;
Ability to work without supervision;
Bilingualism (French and English)
Good knowledge of MS Office; experience with Ariba and SAP an asset;
