Position overview:


Admin support is available through the Customer Service team (replacement parts, damaged shipments, etc.) and the Sales Coordinator, USA & Canada for qualifying new leads and Saved Carts opportunities.


Major responsibilities:

Sales

  • Meet and exceed annual set sales quotas
  • Promote/negotiate/sell/secure orders from existing and prospective customers through a relationshipbased, consultative sales approach
  • Respond with a sense of urgency to customer and prospect inquiries and prepare written presentations and price quotes
  • Review and have a comprehensive understanding of largest customers and partnerships either direct, through Education (LTCs or Host Sites) or via Resellers
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of current Reseller partners and be able to articulate to the team their business, unique accountspecific sales opportunities, how they communicate with their customers
  • Be able to find and recommend any crosschannel sales opportunities with existing key partners. Develop an indepth knowledge of their people, systems and accounts
  • Visit our direct accounts and Reseller Partners, where appropriate, to train their staff, pitch customers and strategize on new Business Development opportunities
  • Work with and assist the Senior Sales Manager, USA & Canada to facilitate the onboarding of new Reseller partners
  • Work with the Senior Sales Manager, USA & Canada and the Marketing team to ensure that marketing efforts are aligned, regionally with local opportunities
  • Notify partners of all new releases, price increases and discontinued items, with Sales Coordinator support
  • Develop comprehensive product knowledge of all lines of business to identify competitive features and benefits and favorably present Company products and services
  • Review partner websites with sales coordinator to ensure Marcom guidelines are followed
  • Research mind, body and fitness industry; new products, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities and other trends
  • Report to Management on customer needs, technical issues, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services
Business development

  • Research assigned territory, understand competitive landscape and identify new sales opportunities
  • Understand the various trade show opportunities in each territory and how Merrithew is being represented in each of them
  • Pass Reseller leads to Senior Sales Manager, USA & Canada for qualification
  • Collaborate with equipment/education partners to create local events
  • Build network and seek new opportunities, using social media sources including LinkedIn and Facebook, and trade associations etc.
  • Attend and participate in trade shows, conventions, sales meetings and product seminars and visit prospective customers
Administrative/Customer service

  • Manage forecasts, close deals, and track customer data using company standard CRM tools with an ongoing and accurate sales funnel
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems or logístical issues and complaints with all necessary departments
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as required

Skills and qualifications:


  • At least 5 years of experience in a Business Development and/or Account Management role
  • Bilingual
  • Must be able to speak both English and French to service the respective territory
  • Able to work independently with a proven track record in driving measurable results and exceeding sales targets
  • Must use company CRM tools and keep exceptional notes and sales funnel management
  • Strong business judgment and decisionmaking skills; ability to identify, prioritize and articulate highest impact initiatives for business development
  • Ability to thrive in a fastpaced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Able and willing to travel internationally and domestically as required for the position
  • Superior problem solving, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and presentation proficiency
  • Use of Social Media as a sales tool to win, retain and service customers is essential
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), both in articulating his/her ideas and gathering input from key stakeholders
  • Additional languages, spoken and written, are a definite asset
  • Sales experience in the fitness industry a requirement
  • This is a mandatory English and French speaking position
