Accident Benefits and Tort Legal Assistant with
2+ years of experience.

Education & Qualifications

College diploma in Paralegal Program or Law Clerk Program
Knowledge of accident benefits and the _Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule_
Knowledge of OCF forms
Knowledge of LAT proceedings
Knowledge of the tort and the _Rules of Civil Procedure_
Knowledge of the court forms as per the _Rules of Civil Procedure_
Excellent use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage high volume of files

Job Duties

Requesting productions
Drafting and preparing correspondence to opposing counsel, insurance companies and clients
Managing and satisfying undertakings and s. 33 requests
Scheduling Case Conferences, LAT and court motions, Examinations for Discoveries, Mediations, client calls and settlement calls in a timely manner
Drafting and submitting Case Conference Summaries, LAT Applications, AODs, NOEs
Preparing Mediation Briefs, Pre-Trial Briefs
Corresponding with insurers and other law firms
File management

Skills and Specifications

Ability to work in a fastpaced environment with mínimal supervision
Confident and dependable, with strong initiative and ability to work both independently and in a teamoriented atmosphere
Exceptional administrative, organizational, analytical and time management skills
Excellent work ethics and a strong attention to detail
Advanced writing skills to prepare legal correspondence and complete form
Excellent oral and communication skills
