    As a Pharmacy Assistant you will be responsible for functions associated with inventory control of medications, receiving of products and storage of pharmaceuticals, distribution of medications and pharmacy supplies to other pharmacy areas, and all related paperwork to and from all pharmacy areas. This also includes duties as assigned based on candidate competence and training.

    Responsibilities:


    •Stock replenishment

    •Transporting supplies and medications

    •Receive medications and supplies and compare to purchase orders

    •Stock, label, and deliver products and supplies to different stock locations

    •Maintain organized and clean work spaces

    •Quality assurance activities (i.e. inspections, audits, gathering patient information)

    •Conduct best possible medication history (BPMH)

    •Duties as assigned

    Requirements:


    •Minimum of 1 year related experience (hospital experience in pharmacy required)

    •Proficient experience using computer systems and data entry

    •Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

    •Demonstrates ability to handle sensitive issues with tact, diplomacy and confidentiality

    •Excellent Organization skills

    •Demonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues and volunteers and other members of the community and public

    •Demonstrates values consistent with SHN′s Code of Conduct and is committed to fostering a healthy and positive work environment in accordance with Health & Safety policy and legislation.

    •Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to SHN's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety, and environmental safety and participates in regular in-service education in this area.

    •Demonstrates excellent work performance and attendance record

    Asset:


    •Experience with inventory control and using systems to manage inventory

    •Experience speaking with clients and interviewing for best possible medication histories

    •Ability to speak another language
