DESCRIPTION:

In this physically demanding job, the incumbent will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Providing proper floor care to all types of floors including carpet, vinyl tile, slate and hardwood
  • Cleaning and maintaining areas of the campus including classrooms, offices, public areas of the college
  • Completing work orders, delivering of mail, parcels and supplies
  • Setting up for conferences, workshops, dances, offices, etc.
  • The job involves moving furniture, supplies and large equipment.
  • Will be assigned to assist with small repairs, painting, etc. and will be responsible for the completion of projects such as furniture cleaning, window cleaning and deep cleaning classrooms, washrooms and offices.
  • Snow and ice removal across campus
  • Assisting housekeepers when required
  • Working in a safe manner and support all safety initiatives and all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • 2 years' experience working in a similar role preferred
  • Previous experience in the care of vinyl tile, terrazzo, carpet and hardwood floor care and experience stripping and waxing floors an asset.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs or more on a regular basis and be capable of using ladders of all kinds.
  • Must have organizational and prioritization skills
  • Experience in infection control and cross contamination control is an asset.
  • Previous safety training is an asset.
  • Must be able to work effectively with mínimal supervision.
  • Must exhibit the highest level of professionalism at all times.

EFFECTIVE DATE:

SALARY RANGE:

SSG $48,799 - $59,456 per annum, dependent on experience
