Description

The Granite Club is looking for a Bartender who, under the direction of the Restaurant Management team, will create a positive dining experience by displaying excellent beverage and food knowledge throughout the various bars in the Club.

Bartenders are required to act as ambassadors and representatives of the Club as a whole, as Member perceptions of the Club in general are influenced by the front-line staff they encounter.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Open and close the bar according to Granite Club standards.
  • Maintain a welcoming environment through strict cleanliness and attention to detail.
  • Create a positive Member experience through interaction and adherence to steps of service.
  • Be knowledgeable of all beverage and food items to make recommendations.
  • Prepare drinks to Granite Club specifications in a fast, accurate manner.
  • Ensure accuracy when entering information into the POS system.
  • Ensure Members are satisfied with their food, beverages and service.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to any requests or concerns.
  • Able to successfully solve problems through good decision making.
  • Perform cocktailing and food service in the bar as required.
  • Monitor cleanliness of the bar area and ensure it is presentable before, during and after service.
  • Ensure the bar is adequately stocked with necessary miseenplace prior to service.
  • Wash, polish and arrange glassware in a neat and tidy manner.
  • Prepare requisitions for food and beverage items and stock items when delivered.
  • Actively demonstrate teamwork, sincerity, helpfulness and courtesy.
  • Report all equipment and maintenance issues to a Restaurant Manager.
  • Follow all fire and emergency procedures.
  • Knowledgeable about the employee handbook and follow all the policies.

Required Qualifications:


  • Minimum Grade 12 education and 2 years related work experience.
  • Good working knowledge of English (Written and Verbal)
  • Smart Serve Certification.
  • Wine, beer and cocktail knowledge is required.
  • Excellent Communication and Social Skills.
  • Emotionally Mature, Respectful and Sincere.
  • Well Groomed and Courteous.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and remain calm under pressure.
  • Understanding all policies, procedures, standards, guidelines and specifications.

Work Schedule:


  • Must be available to work weekends, weekdays and/or holidays, AM and PM.
