Job Summary:


McKesson Canada's Corporate Strategy and Business Development function is seeking to add a Manager to its team that is responsible for strategy development and identifying and evaluating new business opportunities.

In this challenging and highly visible role, this individual will support strategic decision-making by delivering projects related to market analysis, emerging industry trends, portfolio analysis, and the identification of strategic needs as it relates to the pursuit of new business endeavors.

This role will support in the design, development, and implementation of strategic initiatives that advance McKesson's objective to achieve better business health for our customers and better care for all.


Responsibilities:

The Manager, Corporate Strategy & Business Development will support and lead several strategic engagements at McKesson Canada, with responsibilities including, but not limited to


Structured Strategic Analyses:


  • Facilitate business problemsolving through structured hypotheses, detailed analyses, and synthesized insights leading to recommendations to senior leaders and management

Market Knowledge & Assessment:


  • Develop analyses to understand the size, growth, stakeholder needs, key drivers and evolution of markets in which we operate or have aspirations to enter
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of the company's products, competition, and broader market dynamics that frame the business context both present and over the next few years
  • Work with imperfect data to gain insights

Relationship Building & Stakeholder Management:


  • Build trust and productive relationships with team members and stakeholders across the organization
  • Understand, manage and address internal stakeholder needs and expectations

Influence & Communications:


  • Influence and gain acceptance of others' ideas through effective communication, relevant and insightful analyses, and creative thinking
  • Drive development of executive engagement material

Project Management:


  • Support scoping and management of strategic projects endtoend
  • Maintain responsibility for deliverables and timelines
  • Shift priorities as needed

Critical Skills & Attributes:

Work experience: 5 years of prior strategy or healthcare consulting and/or relevant industry experience preferred.

Strategic Thinking: evaluating industry trends, developing long-term implications, and recommending pragmatic strategies for new business opportunities

Analytical Rigor: ability to bring structure to ill-defined problems and intellectual leadership to problem solving; synthesize insights from analysis and ensure credible, actionable recommendations

Financial Acumen: understanding of financial modeling and experience with financial planning, budgeting, and capital allocation in the context of strategic planning to maximize shareholder value

Communications Skills: ability to develop rapport and credibility across the organization, promote ideas and recommendations persuasively

Industry Knowledge: broad knowledge of stakeholders, trends, economic drivers and policy across healthcare and life sciences, or keen interest and ability to quickly ramp-up in this segment


Education:


  • 4 year Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Health Sciences or other relevant field
  • Master of Business Administration (preferred)
