About Us:

Fritzall is one of Ontario's leading solar companies. We are hiring a solar service technician to add to our maintenance team. You would be responsible for completing annual preventative maintenance on our solar trackers (Deger) as well as unscheduled repairs on the trackers, inverters, solar panels etc. Ideally you would have a relevant skilled trade (electrician, millwright, mechanic) or a diploma/degree in renewable energy engineering. Solar experience is an asset. Note, this is an outdoors job all year round. You will have to work in undesirable weather at times.

The position is full time, but with a little seasonal variability. Generally, we try and slow down a bit over winter. The service area would generally be Grey, Bruce and Dufferin counties as well as the north end of Huron county.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, service and maintain existing solar photovoltaic ground mounted solar tracking systems and roof top systems in the assigned area
• Manage company supplied vehicle, phone, laptop, tools and inventory.
• Communicate with customers, solar service manager and head office
• Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
• Complete electronic service reports, time sheets and expense reports.
• Other maintenance-related work as required.

Qualifications and Essential skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Post-secondary education with an electrical or mechanical base is an asset
• Electrician or Millwright license an asset
• Sound knowledge of electrical circuits
• Mechanically inclined
• Very good time management
• Personal discipline
• Organizational skills
• Effective communication - face to face, email and telephone
• Very good trouble shooting skills
• Clean driving record

Requirements:

• Class G driver's license
• Minimum 2 years electrical experience is required
• Ability to work in cold and warm weather conditions
• Ability to lift up to 70lbs
• Customer-focused attitude
• Ability to travel within the designated territory
• Ability to work overtime at times
