Overview


A vital part of the Amhil's HR team, the
Payroll & Benefits Specialist supports the Payroll & Benefits function for our group of companies, ensuring the accurate and timely completion of payroll and benefits administration.


Snapshot


In addition to the weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing, this position is also responsible for vacation and time & attendance tracking, administration of the company pension and benefits plans, including but limited to, managing enrolments and employee eligibility, payment of monthly premiums and reconciliations.


  • Lead Payroll processing for weekly and biweekly, hourly, salaried, union and nonunion in ADP Workforce Now.
  • Focus on Customer Service in responding to employee payroll & benefits questions, employment letter requests etc. in a timely manner.
  • Update and maintain current and accurate information in Payroll and Time & Attendance system.
  • Participate in new hire orientation for payroll, time & attendance system, overview of benefits, and company pension plan information.
  • Support period (weekly, biweekly, monthly and yearend) requirements/reconciliations including T4, WSIB, etc.
  • Prepares payroll reports for management and auditing purposes.
  • Coordinating enrolments and employee eligibility, payment of monthly premiums and reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, relevant industry regulations, tax, and deduction laws.
  • Generate reports for scheduled and adhoc reports such as Labour reports, headcount, overtime, attendance, hours worked and progression increments etc.
  • As part of the HR team, this position travel occasionally between Amhil locations (Mississauga and Brantford).
  • Create, maintain and update employee files as we move to a fully digital system.

Assets

  • Experience within a Manufacturing industry (strongly preferred).
  • CPA/PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) designation.
