Sarens Canada is currently recruiting for a Fleet Manager based out of our Alberta office. This is a full-time permanent position reporting to the Country Manager.


As the Fleet Manager you will be tasked with implementing and maintaining the Group-wide maintenance strategy, organization, people, processes and the economical results related to the maintenance of all equipment and warehousing.

Specifically, the Fleet Manager will be responsible for the following, but not limited to:

  • Ensuring all executed activities and processes are in compliance with Sarens SHEQ standards, policies, instructions and local legislation
  • Understands, applies and conveys the Sarens mission and vision in order for the organization to adhere to the expectations and values prioritized by the Country Manger and local management team
  • Controls the implementation of processes, policies and organizes corrective measures if needed and sets the KPI's for Supervisors holding each employee accountable for their respective domains
  • Demonstrates leadership, makes tough decisions and takes ownership of results ensuring at all times that the unit is meeting its target and budget
  • Understands relevant supplier markets and how they can be addressed in helping to fulfill the objectives of the department
  • Implementation of Fleet Maintenance policies and mindset in the organization
  • Ensuring all equipment is operationally sound, both technically and aesthetically, to ensure its safe deployment at all times
  • Implementation and regular follow up of Performance and Competence Mangement and the adjoining HR instruments to create and maintain a motivated and professional team
  • Administrative responsibilities include managing technical and legal documentation of resources, timekeeping records for direct and indirect reports, systems, data and documentation of maintenance activities
  • An absolute commitment to health and safety;
  • Strong leadership abilities as evidenced by five or more years of experience managing and developing others;
  • A champion for quality improvement (experience with quality management systems would be an asset);
  • Technical aptitude in crane and transportation mechanics, as evidenced by a journeyperson certificate in the Heavy Equipment Technician (Heavy Duty Off Road and Transport) trade and/or extensive, related experience;
  • Familiarity with the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) ;
  • A dedication to customer service and going above and beyond to meet customer needs;
  • An outsideofthebox thinker willing to take risks and do things differently to achieve aboveaverage results; and
  • Certified Equipment Manager with AEMP a definite asset.
  • Completion of Post secondary degree/diploma will be considered an asset

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Pay:
$160,000.00-$180,000.00 per year
