Position Summary
We are looking for a Category Demand and Supply Planner based at our North York location.

In this role, they will get a chance to work as the Demand Planner for the entire category and be responsible for ensuring supply on one sub-category.

This role will be responsible for developing, maintaining and improving a Demand Plan for the entire business.

The planner will ensure the alignment of this Demand Plan with internal and external partners through the Monthly Business Planning and Collaborative Planning processes and ensure demand realities are supporting the achievement of business objectives.

They will also manage exceptions and monitor performance to continually improve the quality and accuracy of the forecast.


This role will also manage the Supply Network of the assigned area of the business by replenishing our distribution centre to meet customer service objectives while adapting quickly to sudden variations in both demand and supply which have become a feature of the post-covid world.

A day in the life of a Category Demand and Supply Planner


As a Category Demand and Supply Planner, you will be managing the execution of the End-to-End forecasting and supply planning activities for your portfolio.


You will:

Demand Planning: Collect information and assumptions about events, activities in relation to promotions, product launches and customer/distribution changes. Based on inputs, generate 18 months forecast and lead Monthly Business Planning in close collaboration with the Sales, CSD and Finance teams.

Supply Planning: Analyse and evaluate the supply plan and net despatch requirements to satisfy customer needs taking into account network complexity and supply constraints.

Inventory Management: Balance the need for product availability versus the need to minimise costs of inventory to ensure optimum stock covers of the right material at the right location

Exceptions management: Analyse exceptions to make business decisions (based on priorities or after arbitration) and to adjust planning results accordingly. Analyse past KPI performance (DPA, Bias, Stock Cover, Working Capital etc), deviations vs targets and determine root cause and corrective action plans for future improvement.

Inventory Policy: In collaboration with local and Intermarket stakeholders, establish stock policies for Finished Goods. Periodically review the stock level of the domestic and the Intermarket products. Pro-actively look for solutions in case of deviations. Challenge manufacturing on regular basis to manage lot sizes, cycle times and R&P inventory levels, to drive optimum FG inventory level.

Communication:Analyse and effectively communicate relevant information to cross functional teams by highlighting all supply issues, detailing impacts of proposed actions and related trade-offs, ensuring actions and Supply Plans are realistic and achievable in alignment with the Business Planning process.


What will make you successful?

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in one of the functions across Generating Demand or Ensuring Supply Areas of Sales / Marketing; Technical & Production; Customer Service; Demand & Supply Planning; Customer Facing Supply Chain; Supply Chain Development; Supply Chain Performance Acceleration team; Procurement, Factory Supply Chain
  • Must be a selfstarter with strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail
  • Completed University Degree in business, operations management, supply chain or logistics
  • Desirable to have had experience implementing LEAN concepts and tools
  • Effective Communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent networking ability both internal and external
  • Proficiency in Power Bi, BW and SAS is an asset. Experience in OMP/UNISON is a plus.
