Job summary
We are looking for a Produce Clerk to join our team at Metro in Oakville. As a key member of our produce team,you will ensure that our produce section is always fresh well-stocked beautifully presented.You will be responsible for unloading shipments of produce sorting items in the backroom cooler stocking shelves and displays with fresh produce creating visually appealing displays inspecting produce for freshness quality removing any damaged or spoiled items ensuring that all produce meets store standards monitor temperature humidity levels maintaining optimal storage conditions assisting customers with locating specific items providing information about different products answering customer inquiries addressing concerns keeping the produce section clean organized sweeping mopping regularly cleaning sanitizing work areas equipment tools disposing waste compostable materials properly monitoring inventory levels restocking items performing regular inventory counts reporting discrepancies notifying management of low stock out-of-stock items ensuring prices match displayed prices reducing pricing items as needed adhering to food safety sanitation guidelines using equipment tools safely properly reporting safety concerns incidents collaborating other departments assigned duties.
