WORK ILLUSTRATION:


Reporting to the Manager, Maintenance Program Office, the Capital and Maintenance Program Analyst will oversee the delivery of maintenance, capital, customer and other planned work programs in consultation with Distribution Grid Operations Scheduling Teams (DGO).

This includes providing oversight for Weekly Switching Work Planning processes, longer term feeder synergy planning activities and other DGO liaison tasks as required.

In addition, the Capital and Maintenance Program Analyst may provide other Toronto Hydro Operations Business Units with program level forecasting, scheduling, reporting and resource balancing services to client execution groups to ensure successful delivery of the Execution Work Program, while addressing budget, resource and schedule constraints.


The incumbent is expected to behave ethically and follow the established code of business conduct, policies and internal control procedures, laws and regulations governing Toronto Hydro.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Supports the Weekly Switching Work Planning Process (WSWP) by facilitating or supporting Analyst facilitation of weekly meetings with the DGO Scheduling Team and Construction Supervisors.
  • Ensure that a work plan for the following week is issued on time that balances available switching resources with planned work in the Downtown Core.
  • Provide support for the WSWP Analyst for daytoday changes/updates to the WSWP.
  • Work with PMCs supporting other departments to develop longer term outlook tools and processes to synergize work (e.g., SAP/system enhancements, forecasting process changes).
  • Maintain, enhance or develop new tools and processes to support the WSWP or longerterm work plans (e.g., Alteryx workflows, Tableau dashboard, VBA tools etc.)
  • Act as a central point of contact for Program Management Consultants (PMCs) and Operations Managers and Analysts with work execution requirements in the downtown core and proactively identify and manage risks that impact the successful delivery of programs.
  • Analyse attainment plan lines for Capital and Maintenance projects/programs for Execution groups to identify opportunities to synergize outages.
  • Work closely with the DGO scheduling team to resolve switching resource related constraints for work to proceed as planned.
  • Support DGO in the improvement or replacement of tools and processes used for outage planning and scheduling from a program delivery perspective.
  • Develop metrics and track savings that account for productivity improvements in the alignment of feeder outages or other efficiencies identified in the outage planning process.
  • Provide consultation and support in addressing budget, schedule and resource constraints and maximizes the inclusion of high priority projects and programs identified by Engineering & Investment Planning. Consult with client groups to addresses ongoing changes to the Execution Work Program as a result of emerging issues faced by field staff, as well as the emergence of higher priority projects, while managing resource and budget constraints.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with various stakeholders (i.e. Engineering & Investment Planning, Finance, Design and Construction groups, Regulatory) and acts as the liaison for all projects under assigned area of jurisdiction.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Undergraduate/ Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or related field.
  • Three (3) or more years of Project Management, Program Management or Engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of the electrical system in Toronto and downtown electrical operations is a strong asset
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) is an asset
  • SAP knowledge an asset
  • Experience working with Alteryx, Tableau is an asset.
  • Experience facilitating meetings with senior staff and working with multiple stakeholders.
  • Understanding of Project/Program Management concepts and methodologies through handson project/program management experience.
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Suite including MS Project, Access, Excel (VBA programming is an asset), and Visio.
  • Familiarity with process mapping and process optimization.
  • General knowledge of electrical distribution system design, construction, maintenance, system operations and risk management principles.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong customerdriven focus.

  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
