Description
In collaboration with team members and management, work to provide a safe, secure and positive environment for guests- Use best practices of client centred and traumainformed approaches to foster positive relationship with guests.
- Handle admissions, orientation and evaluation of guests understanding of rules, ensures ongoing enforcement of policies, which may include discipline.
- Makes referrals to and consult with case managers regarding guests.
- Assist with programming under the direction of Program/Activity Coordinator
- Monitors activities of guests, assist with storage of personal belongings, medication, etc.
- Coordinates guest care relating to security and safety issues
- Accurately record day to day incidents, case notes, log daily attendance, guest information, use of HIFIS database.
- Always maintain strict confidentiality.
- Work in all stations on a rotating basis as directed by supervisor.
- Preparation of simple foods, i.e., coffee, sandwiches, maintain cleanliness of food preparation area.
- Maintain a clean, tidy workspace. Check washrooms on a regular basis.
- Attending monthly staff meetings and all training sessions
- Consult with and report to supervisor on a regular basis.
- Understand and use harm reduction approach with guests.
- Daily cleaning and maintenance of center (shared tasks with colleagues).
- Other duties as required
- Minimum two year diploma in the social services field from a recognized postsecondary institution.
- First-Aid, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, ASIST Training, and Mental Health First-Aid are all considered assets.
- Relevant work experience considered an asset.
Pay:
$21.00-$23.00 per hour
