- Duties include typing & formatting of routine correspondence and memoranda.
- Sets up and maintains all office systems.
- Performs payroll duties for personnel, coding of timesheets, correction notices, and meal and mileage credits.
- Provides daily reception coverage and vacation/sick coverage for the Secretary in the Department and to a lesser extent helps when one of the Administrative Assistants is away.
- One-year previous related experience required, preferably in a hospital setting.
- Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required.
- Successful completion of a recognized secretarial training program required.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Typing 50 wpm required.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Teams, SAP, ESP, Outlook) required.
- Arithmetic competence for petty cash control and record keeping required.
- Knowledge of database entry work preferred.
- Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of Health Sciences Centre personnel and payroll procedures as well as some knowledge of support union contracts related to employee benefits is an asset.
- Must have excellent telephone manner and the ability to receive and relay precise messages.
- Must be able to function well with frequent interruptions.
