In this role, you will:
- Assist with volunteer recruitment by implementing strategies, as well as participating in and following up on recruitment activities.
- Lead and coordinate the work of volunteer teams supporting operations.
- Produce and check reports, lists, response documents, analyses, and statistics.
- Conduct the appropriate followups with volunteers, colleagues, suppliers, and partners in a timely manner.
- Update and distribute emergency operations plans and provide logístical support.
- Coordinate followups on service delivery methods and management of response supplies.
- Support the smooth operation of the alert and mobilization system, including by assuming responsibility for its programming and the associated administrative followups.
What we are looking for:
- A college diploma in recreation, ambulance, or police services, social sciences and humanities, or the equivalent.
- French and English bilingualism (written and spoken).
- Experience working in emergency management and response.
- Experience leading a group, working in a volunteer setting (an asset).
- Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Strong writing skills.
- The ability to work in a highstress environment.
- Good problemsolving skills.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
Working conditions:
- This position requires a valid driver's license.
- This position is unionized.
- They must be available for deployment to support local emergency operations.
- They must be able to work during emergency operations in Canada.
- If you are selected for this role, you will be required to complete a successful preemployment screening process which includes a satisfactory Enhanced Police Information Check (E-PIC).
