    The School of Communication offers writing courses to many departments/Schools within the university and demand for these writing courses is growing. Additional sections may become available to the successful candidate.

    As a member of the Faculty of Business and Professional studies, our instructors will be instrumental in helping learners to communicate effectively, with clarity and concision. The successful candidates will show a strong commitment to mentoring students from a wide range of backgrounds. Successful applicants will be passionate about teaching and will help us continue to build exceptional experiences for our student community. School of Communication faculty are expected to participate in program and course planning for the future. What you'll bring Required Qualification & Experience
  • Master's degree in Communications, English or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years post-secondary teaching experience
  • Minimum 2 years' experience working in industry
  • Ability to foster a classroom environment that provides a supportive learning setting for students from diverse populations and circumstances
  • Experience/knowledge of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion principles in an educational practice and environment
  • Preferred
  • PhD. in Communication or related discipline and/or, five years of relevant professional experience in a field related to communication
  • Provincial Instructor Diploma Program (PDIP), Certification in University Teaching, or Credential/Experience in online teaching or equivalent
  • Professional experience in marketing, communications, public relations and/or community engagement
  • In keeping with Capilano University's commitment to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) of Canada Calls to Action and addressing historic barriers to higher education, we are looking for qualified candidates who can bring lived Indigenous experience to enhance learning in the classroom
