***: We currently have an opportunity for a results oriented individual to join our team as a Wastewater Treatment Operator, working on rotating shifts at our Dundas location. Reporting into the Environmental Supervisor responsible for working in the wastewater department. This is a contract ending March 2024.


SCHEDULE:
Rotating shifts Days-7AM to 3PM Afternoons-3PM to 11PM as well as Nights 11PM to 7AM


WE OFFER:

- $23.50 per hour plus overtime after 40 hours

POSITION TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Reporting to the Wastewater Supervisor, ensure the Dundas facility is in environmental regulatory compliance at all times.
  • Operate, monitor, maintain and troubleshoot onsite environmental control systems including the wastewater treatment plant (consisting of dissolved air filtration, activated sludge treatment, waste sludge separation / handling, tertiary treatment and other process unit operations).
  • Collect daily environmental samples. Assist with sample analysis and reporting of the monitoring data and ensure good record keeping.
  • Responsible for operating and troubleshooting air quality equipment
  • Operate a fork lift, other large equipment and chemicals systems in a safe manner.
  • Maintain safe and tidy working environment at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • University Degree or College Diploma in an environmental or related discipline.
  • Able to demonstrate a good understanding of wastewater treatment processes, environmental, equipment operation and maintenance, and environmental regulatory requirements / due diligence.
