Door Service Technician (Novatech Patio Doors Ontario Inc.)
Novatech Patio Doors Ontario is looking for a technically skilled Door Service Technician to join its Service Team.

The service technician's responsibilities include traveling to customers' locations (using the Novatech Service Van) to perform repairs/ service work on aluminum and PVC sliding doors.

The Service Technician must be very handy in figuring out problematic issues and must be able to handle customer relations in a friendly and professional manner.

Working with the service coordinator, the Door Service Technician will ensure that service jobs get completed in a timely manner.

To be successful as a service technician, you should have excellent technical and mechanical skills as well as customer service experience as you will be dealing directly with homeowners.

You should have experience with basic hand, power, and diagnostic tools, and you should be physically fit to lift heavy equipment.

Servicing sliding doors may include any of the following, but are not limited to:

• Conducting warranty repairs on defective sliding doors or defective parts.
• Diagnosing problematic issues with the sliding door product or its installation. It is also important to come up with solutions to rectify these issues.
• Using diagnostic tools to identify and evaluate issues.
• Removing and replacing glass in sliding door panels.
• Installing and adjusting door locks, handles, and rollers.
• Replacing defective panels with new ones.
• Performing minor paint touchups on scratched or nicked products.
• Replacing weather strip where needed.
• Fixing defective/broken products or ordering the necessary parts to replace faulty/wornout parts.
• Providing daily written reports on work needed and work accomplished.
• Loading and unloading the service van with supplies and products.
• Providing customers with instructions on the proper usage of the product.
• Promoting the company's services.

Service Technician's Requirements:

• Work experience in the window and door industry.
• Strong working knowledge of equipment and tools used in the window and door industry.
• Attention to detail.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Managing overtime on service calls with patience and not rushing the job.
• The ability to diagnose and solve problems based on customers' nontechnical descriptions.
• Good physical fitness to lift heavy items such as sliding door panels
• Working on ladders and bending frequently to work on the lower part of the sliding door
• Must have valid G license and clean driving abstract
• Maintaining a clean and organized work area
• Punctuality
