    Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive action plan to generate revenue for the Corporation, reviewing and adjusting strategies regularly to maximize effectiveness.
    • Collaborate with the Executive Assistant and Senior Economic Development Officer to execute economic development initiatives and fundraising plans.
    • Develop, implement, and oversee all fundraising policies, procedures, special fundraising events, and grant application processes.
    • Lead recruitment, training, and performance management of Economic Development staff; coordinate volunteer support when required.
    • Manage departmental budgets, monitor financial performance, and report progress and outcomes to the Vice President and Board of Directors.
    • Represent the Corporation externally by liaising with partner organizations, attending events, and promoting the Corporation's mission.
    • Conduct business marketing and prospecting activities to attract new businesses and industries to Nunavik.
    • Review existing businesses and industries and collaborate with business leaders to retain and expand economic development opportunities.
    • Build, maintain, and sustain strategic partnerships at the National, Regional, and Local levels.
    • Provide briefings and reports to the Vice President on economic trends, business expansion impacts, and relevant market data.
    • Organize, administer, and oversee the daily operations of the Economic Development Program.
    • Prepare and present written and oral reports for the Board of Directors, Executive Committees, and other governance bodies as required.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders through trade associations, industry events, and sector-specific initiatives.
    • Coordinate economic development activities with subsidiaries, governmental agencies, private enterprises, civic organizations, and the public.
    • Manage collaboration with local agencies addressing workforce development and training initiatives.
    • Develop, recommend, and implement operational policies, procedures, and programs to ensure efficient and effective economic development outcomes.
    • Be available to travel, up to 25 days per year.
    • Perform other related duties within the scope of the position or as requested by supervisor.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in management or a related field.
    • An equivalent combination of relevant education, professional certifications, and experience may be considered an asset.
    • Minimum of 10 years of progressive managerial experience, preferably within economic development, fundraising, project management, or a related field.
    • Demonstrated experience leading teams through change, growth, or organizational development initiatives.
    • Strong knowledge of leadership and management principles.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of project management methodologies.
    • Knowledge of current Nunavik priorities related to economic and social development.
    • Strong financial acumen, including budget management, fundraising strategies, and grant administration.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proven ability to build, maintain, and sustain strategic partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
    • High level of integrity, confidentiality, accountability, and professionalism.
    • Strong work ethic with a collaborative and results-driven leadership style.
    • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new digital tools and software platforms.
    • Demonstrated adaptability and openness to continuous learning, including the adoption of new technologies and evolving work tools.
    • Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development, including AI-enabled platforms, data-driven tools, and emerging technologies that support economic development and organizational effectiveness.
    • Ability to lead and support teams through technological and process changes.
    • Knowledge of and respect for Traditional Inuit Knowledge, culture, and Nunavik realities is a strong asset.
    • Security clearance is required.
