Description

The key accountabilities for this position include:

  • Excellent internal and external customer service skills are required to be displayed at all times
  • Maintaining the overall security and protection of the Casino complex and shall consistently discharge their duties with the highest professional standards as per this position description
  • Ensure that any violations or suspected violations of the Gaming Code, the Criminal Code of Canada, the Gaming Control Act 1992, the Terms and Conditions of Registration, the Ontario Casino Corporation Act or the regulations made pursuant to these Acts are logged accordingly and reported to the Security as soon as possible
  • Remain vigilant in monitoring at assigned post and/or assigned duty in order to protect the safety of the Casino's visitors and employees, the Security of Casino assets and the operations in whole
  • Ensure all irregular, unusual, suspicious, or illegal activities are controlled and reported as soon as possible and subsequently logged accordingly
  • Ensure the accurate and neat recording of all activities in the appropriate registries, logs and reports
  • Ensure that all security equipment is functioning correctly and to report any and all malfunctions to the Security Supervisor immediately
  • Comply with all company rules, regulations, policies and procedures at all times
  • Safeguard all confidential information and exercise due care to prevent its improper disclosure or use
  • Operate golf carts to escort patrons from the parking lot to the casino and back to the parking lot as required
  • Ensure understanding of casino hours of operation, guest services provided, casino amenities and special events and promotions occurring within the property
  • Perform a variety of support functions for the department including fueling, cleaning, vehicles and maintaining working knowledge of internal policies
  • Perform other duties as required by the Security Supervisor/Shift Manager

Successful applicants will demonstrate the following qualifications:

  • Must possess a Community College Diploma in Law & Security Administration or Police Foundations, or an equivalent amount of Security related work experience
  • Must have a valid class "G" driver's license
  • Smart Serve Certificate
  • Must of optimal customer service skills
  • Ability to follow rules, regulations, policies and procedures at all times
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing in English
  • Must have a good level of physical fitness
  • Must be able to work independently without direct supervision and use of good judgment and discretion under stressful situations.
