About the work environment:

Peoples Group offers a flexible and hybrid work environment. In this role you will work a combination of in-office and remotely from home.

Typically, you'll be working regular business hours, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:30pm with flexibility around start & end times.

About you:

As a Business System Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing, documenting, and optimizing the business processes and requirements associated with our payments system and ledger system.

You will work closely with stakeholders from various departments, including technology, operations, and compliance, to ensure successful delivery of system enhancements, new features, and regulatory changes.

Additionally, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining comprehensive product documentation, including product operations, compliance, and product launch processes.

You should have experience with requirements management, software development methodology and should have worked extensively with business users, programmers, and Quality Assurance.

About you / qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field and 5 years of workrelated experience, or Master's degree and 2 years of workrelated experience, or 8 years equivalent workrelated experience
Proven experience as a Business System Analyst, preferably in the banking or financial services industry, with a focus on payment systems.
Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in an Agile development environment.
Experience in API development.
Experience creating and maintaining comprehensive product documentation, including product operations, compliance, and product launch processes.
Proficiency in using Jira and Confluence for managing project requirements, tasks, and documentation.
Independent and selfdriven, with the ability to gather detailed requirements from various stakeholders.

Team Specific Qualifications:

Money Movement

Familiarity with payment formats and protocols such as ISO 20022, CPA, SWIFT, and other relevant standards
Understanding of Canadian Payments landscape, the concepts of Exchange, Clearing, and Settlements of payments
Understanding of relevant Payment rails including ACSS for AFT's and Online Bill Pay, Lynx and SWIFT for Wires, Interac etransfers, and Realtime Rails

Familiarity with mortgage lending products, the underwriting and sales process, and any regulatory requirements related to lending

Familiarity with deposit products and regulatory requirements related to deposits (CDIC, FINTRAC, tax reporting, etc.)

About the day-to-day:

Our teams specialize in digital delivery of financial services to fintech partners in North America.

We deliver a secure interface for businesses to accept a wide range of payment methods, including Bill Payments, EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer), Interac eTransfers, Wire Transfers, and traditional Canadian and US dollar Credit and Debit payments with reliable, real-time transaction processing as well as a new suite of modern APIs with a variety of functions to enable and enhance traditional platforms.

Peoples Group also supports Merchant Acquiring and Card Issuing sponsorship programs and provides specialized services to accelerate the onboarding of these clients as well as the ongoing curation of the sponsored products.

Peoples is investing in Open and White Label banking where we are combining all of our existing services into a value-add ecosystem of services and financial products that can be embedded in a client's existing systems or delivered by Peoples through our platform.

Primary Responsibilities:

Work with Product Owner to understand highlevel requirements and capture business needs.
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to gather, document, and analyze business requirements.
Conduct detailed business process analysis and develop comprehensive process flow diagrams, user stories, functional specification documents, and use cases to facilitate system design and development.
