What you'll be doing


You'll be joining CIBC's Capital Markets Technology Regulatory Reporting Services (RRS) Product Intake team concentrates on regulatory reporting impact assessments, requirements gathering of new requests from technology partners and business stakeholders, and the triage of various investigation items related to audit, compliance reviews and production issues.

As a Consultant, Business Systems Analysis, you will be expected to conduct effective impact assessments of triage items which may result in the creation of user stories and bug fixes that will be added to the RRS backlog or communicating to our partners your root cause analysis and recommendations for remediation.

You'll ideate and collaborate with a diverse team to create and set up flexible, innovative solutions that deliver a best-in-class client experience.

How you'll succeed

  • Understanding and documenting requirements
  • Work closely with business partners to gather complicated business requirements and facilitate solution design discussions to ensure you meet project needs. Create strong relationships, lead discussions, listen and ask the right questions to ensure solutions meet requirements.


  • Solution design

  • Assemble clientfocused solutions that meet business requirements. Prepare and validate solution design documents around areas such as scope clarification, solution requirements, and quality assurance.
Who you are

  • You can demonstrate experience with: 2+ years working as a Business Systems Consultant, preferably within the Financial Services industry (ideally Capital Markets) with an emphasis on stakeholder relationship management. You are proficient with SQL/Database queries and have previously supported Agile/Scrum based projects. Ideally, you have excellent documentation skills, a collaborative mindset, the flexibility to jump in to support testing as needed and thrive in a fastpaced environment.

It's an asset if:
You have practical experience with Derivatives, Foreign Exchange, and/or supporting a Capital Markets client group. Also an asset if you have experience with Azure DevOps, Jira/Confluence, Elasticsearch, and Tableau.
