Responsibilities

Prepping of substrate (masking, sanding, wiping, blowing down, etc)
General understanding of industrial paints and equipment
Understand and adhere to corporate quality and safety management systems
Proper mixing of 2 component and 3 component paints
Clean equipment and perform routine maintenance when necessary.
Performs all duties in accordance Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code.
Keeping Shop and work area clean
Behave in a professional manner with a high degree of respect for self, coworkers and clients
Report to the Foreman any obstacles found

Training

Minimum 12 years' experience coating in an industrial environment
Experience operating an Overhead Crane, Tractor/Trailer, Forklift and/or Zoom Boom for loading and unloading materials considered an asset
Experience with inorganic and organic zincs, epoxies, mastics, urethanes, polysiloxanes, internal linings and coating and 100% solids considered and asset.
CSTS2020

WHMIS 201

First Aid is an asset
AIT apprentices accepted

Physical Requirements:

Frequent standing and walking throughout the shift
Frequent climbing, stooping, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and twisting
Able to do physically demanding work
Required to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to wear a respirator
Must be able to work in tight spaces
Use of ladders

Other Requirements:

Must have access to reliable transportation
Punctual, reliable, and able to work collaboratively with others
Ability to speak and write in the English language
Organized and detail oriented with the ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
Some overtime as required
Union position
