***: The Information Technology (IT) Manager serves as the technical expert for the development, implementation, management, and support of the companies systems and networks. The IT Manager plans and carries out exciting, complex assignments and develops new methods and approaches in a wide variety of IT specialties. The IT Manager evaluates new and enhanced approaches to deliver IT services; test and optimize the functionality of systems, networks, and data; and define technical requirements. The IT Manager is responsible for providing various forms of computer-related technical assistance and improving the efficiency of the work of the staff through the use of technology.


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Responsible for maintaining and keeping the Company's telecommunication systems running with mínimal downtime (phones, webcast services, music systems, cameras).
  • Responsible for overseeing the companies ERP system and its management of the Auto Replenishment Program, including it's internal transfer functions.
  • Knowledge of Loyalty Programs
  • Prepare IT budget and monitor spending appropriately.
  • Support of desktops, laptops and servers.
  • Evaluate new hardware and software to meet company requirements.
  • Maintain inventory of internal licenses and track compliance recommendations in areas of expertise.
  • Develop program goals and plans for implementation.
  • Serve as a technical advisor to store and office employees.
  • Oversee projects of significance to the department's operations.
  • Design and generate reports as requested by office staff and supervisor.
  • Monitor or optimize the performance, security, backup, and recovery of the companies information/date.
  • Establish procedures to ensure the readiness, quality, and accuracy of websites
  • Use available technology to promote the web site and gather statistical information for analysis.
  • Assist other staff in special events and activities as requested by immediate supervisor.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:


  • Requires a technical degree in Information Science, CS, or equivalent skill gained through experience coupled with 2+ years of experience in systems (hardware and software) support.
  • At least 2 years of practical experience in IT Support.
  • Knowledge of IT principles, concepts, and methods; systems testing and evaluation principles, methods, and tools; IT security principles and methods; COTS products; Internet technologies; and/or emerging information technologies.
  • Experience in support of Microsoft, and Adobe products
  • Experience with ERP software systems, their implementation, ongoing management and optimization.
  • Must have a strong familiarity with PC hardware, software and peripherals in a Windows NT environment.
  • Selfstarter who can interact well with many different groups.
  • Must possess strong analytical interpersonal and communication skills and have the ability to work with mínimal supervision in a team environment.
  • Good experience in HTML, SQL, PHP, CSS, JavaScript, and familiarity with multiple web browsers and OS platforms.
  • Experience in technical support and/or training is a plus.
  • Excellent, demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills to deal effectively with a diverse and independentminded departments.
  • Ability to maintain databasedriven content management systems.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work occasional offhours duty to permit timely attention to missioncritical functions.
  • Able to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Attention to detail in all areas of work.
  • Flexible and able to quickly adapt to changing priorities.
  • Good organizational, time management, multitasking and prioritizing skills
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
  • Professional demeanor under stressful situations
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
  • 13 years' experience in the grocery industry an asset.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Travel required in Ontario; must have vehicle.

  • Manual dexterity is required to use desktop computers and peripherals.
