    The Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture's Livestock Branch is seeking a values-driven and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Policy Analyst to implement legislation, regulations and policy related to the livestock sector in Saskatchewan.

    This position provides a challenging and dynamic opportunity to work with a wide professional network to advance livestock industry policy in the province.

    Reporting to the Director, Livestock Development, thisSenior Policy Analyst position will:

    Lead the branch in livestock policy development, including conducting in-depth research and analysis, and providing policy advice on issues affecting Saskatchewan's livestock industry.

    Work closely with a team of Provincial Livestock Specialists, veterinarians and livestock industry partners to prepare for and respond to emerging issues in Saskatchewan's livestock sector.

    Collaborate across the branch, ministry, government, and private sector including conducting internal and external stakeholder consultations. Provide leadership on policy, legislation, and regulation development.

    Competencies for this position would typically be obtained through the completion of a Master of Public Administration or Policy, or a Master of Science in Agriculture or Commerce (Master of Business Administration or Agriculture Economics) or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Knowledge of the Western Canadian livestock industry and government decision-making processes are considered an asset.
