JOB SUMMARY:


The Maintenance Manage manages the operation of the Maintenance Department in accordance with company and departmental policies, procedures, and standards.


JOB TASKS:


  • Responsible for the health and safety of all employees, by ensuring safe work practices: through policies, procedures, communication and leading by example.
  • Committed to meet or exceed customer quality expectations in all aspects of our operations by establishing, communicating, measuring and reviewing our quality objectives.
  • Business Process Owner (BPO) for the departmentspecific SAP module
  • Develops analytics to improve department efficiencies and monitor internal workload
  • Monitors, plans, and directs the daily operation of the Maintenance Department
  • Monitors and directs Building Services activities; ensures response to Building Services Work Order requests
  • Monitors and directs activities and operation of Security System, HVAC System, Building and Grounds Maintenance, Furniture and Work Stations, Fire Systems, and Pest Control.
  • Maintains departmental budget; assists with the annual Capital Budget
  • Participates in the development and acquisition of new technology and equipment
  • Liaises with suppliers and customers as required
  • Conducts employee performance evaluations
  • Ensures the availability of building system drawings, shop drawings, and equipment specifications
  • Coordinates and monitors onsite contractors' activities; ensures contractor compliance to government regulations and Emmerson Packaging procedures
  • Recommends improvements to maintenance operations systems to decrease equipment downtimes and streamline work order processes
  • Participates as a HACCP and/or Food Defense team member, as requested by the applicable SQF Practitioner, to support product safety requirements as outlined in the Management System

COMPETENCIES:


  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and AutoCAD software
  • Must have strong, demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must have a demonstrated strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy; detailoriented
  • Must have strong timemanagement and organizational skills; able to multitask effectively
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills
  • Must have proven strong conflict resolution skills
  • Must have strong mechanical aptitude

REQUIRMENTS:


  • Trade certification or Bachelor of Engineering degree
  • Five (5) years' maintenance management or supervisory experience in a production facility
  • Three (3) years' experience working with industrial ventilation systems

PREFERRED:


  • Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement programs
  • Knowledgeable in Occupational Health & Safety regulations
  • Knowledgeable in Canada Building Code, National Fire Code, and relevant NFPA standards
