    The Opportunity

    The City of St. Albert is recruiting an individuals to join our Recreation and Parks department as an Educators in our PLAYcare program.

    PLAYcare is a drop-in child-minding service available at Servus Place throughout the year for members and public. It is an active childcare program focussing on a variety of PLAY opportunities for kids during their stay.

    As a PLAYcare Educator you will be responsible for the safety and care of children 1-9 years old. Your duties will include ensuring participants are signed-in and out; setting up and ensuring the play space is safe, inclusive, and fun; playing and interacting with, and supporting participants; providing exceptional customer service, light cleaning duties, and adhering to Health & Safety legislation, guidelines, and procedures.

    Qualifications


    •Level 1 Early Childcare Educator Certificate is required; Level 2 or 3 are assets.

    •Minimum 1 year experience working with children in either a childcare capacity or program is required.

    •Experience working in a childcare facility is an asset.

    •Current Standard First Aid and CPR C with AED certification is required prior to starting.

    •Applicants must possess strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.

    •Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills are necessary to address and resolve customer inquiries and concerns.

    •Reliable, takes initiative, and thrives in working in a diverse environment.

    Hours of Work

    Shifts available starting in April 2024.
    Weekday and weekend shift include:
    Monday-Sunday 8:45 am - 12:45 pm, and some weekday evenings 4:15 pm - 8:00 pm.

    Compensation

    Starting at $16.53 per hour based on qualifications and experience.

    Conditions of Employment

  • The successful applicant will be required to obtain a clear vulnerable sector police information check.
  • The successful candidate will be required to provide proof of educational and professional credentials.
