Maplesoft Group is currently seeking an IT Security Design Specialist Level 3 for our Federal Government client.

The following responsibilities are associated with the "Statement of Work" but are not limited to:
Primary Responsibilities

  • Familiarize themselves with the VFSO and the built environment (DTE) by reading through detailed design documents, deployment guides.
  • Work sidebyside with Engineering team and Network Security analyst to help supporting VFSO and building the VFSO DTE environment.
  • Help and provide advices with the design, the documentation and guides of VFSO
  • Optimizing VFSO environment, Plan and design the Evergreening.
  • Produce documentation, design and operational procedures and provide training / guidance to GCSI VFSO IT Analysts and Technical Advisors.
  • Assist in the purchase of new hardware by providing recommendations based on best practices for our environment.
  • Perform level 2 and 3 support of the GCSI VFSO infrastructure, fulfilling duties related to a server operations capacity, as well as some exposure to some network operations.
  • Perform hardware certification, and implement new technologies within a classified data center environment.
  • Follow ITSM practices, review standard operating procedures and design documents, and complete work in relation to writing, maintaining, and enhancing documentation.
  • Gather appropriate requirements, and work with various contacts and stakeholders for the delivery of GCSI VFSO solutions.
  • Troubleshoot issues on existing infrastructure, migrations, upgrades, evergreening, net new installations, cabling, etc
  • Work in an environment that involves: Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, LDAP, GPOs, Entrust and Microsoft PKI, McAfee/Trellix AV, Splunk, SolarWinds, Tripwire, VMWare ESXi, Various Security Support Tools, Help Desk Functions.
  • Participate in nonproduction staging and development cycles, progress to build the production system, and transition knowledge/workload to staff from an existing operations team both during and postproduction implementation.
- ttend regular meetings, plan, coordinate, assess and track work activities / incidents.

  • Provide support, assistance, and recommendations to other team members.
  • Works alongside the following units:
  • Network Operations team, which work in an environment that involves networking equipment: Routing and Switching, Networks Security Principles, Various Service Firewall, Checkpoint, Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Load balancers, etc.
