About the role:


Key responsibilities include:


  • Educate and inform the general public about the need for donors locally
  • Filling up a robust contact platform to allow us to communicate further with these interested community members.
  • Working with volunteers who are also looking to support the growth of the awareness about Canadian Blood Services.
  • Identifying events/festivals and other opportunities to set up activation booths
  • Organizing, setting up and maintaining the supplies for these activation display booths.

Required Skills:


  • Experience with sales, promotions and/or marketing and dealing with the public
  • Ability to initiate conversation and speak comfortably regarding opportunities to get involved at Canadian Blood Services.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks while being flexible
  • Strong personal initiative and a passion for the cause
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Education, Training and Experience:


  • Some postsecondary education, plus related experience or equivalent combination
  • Preference will be given to those with an interest in Sales, Communications, Marketing or Public Outreach
  • Preference will be given to those with previous experience with volunteers and volunteering
  • Experience with use of devices such as tablets and laptops
  • Experience with use of social media
