About the role:

Key responsibilities include:

Educate and inform the general public about the need for donors locally
Filling up a robust contact platform to allow us to communicate further with these interested community members.
Working with volunteers who are also looking to support the growth of the awareness about Canadian Blood Services.
Identifying events/festivals and other opportunities to set up activation booths
Organizing, setting up and maintaining the supplies for these activation display booths.

Required Skills:

Experience with sales, promotions and/or marketing and dealing with the public
Ability to initiate conversation and speak comfortably regarding opportunities to get involved at Canadian Blood Services.
Excellent verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks while being flexible
Strong personal initiative and a passion for the cause
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Education, Training and Experience:

Some postsecondary education, plus related experience or equivalent combination
Preference will be given to those with an interest in Sales, Communications, Marketing or Public Outreach
Preference will be given to those with previous experience with volunteers and volunteering
Experience with use of devices such as tablets and laptops
Experience with use of social media
