Location(s):1 position in Durham Region and 2 Positions in Etobicoke (Kipling Avenue).

Hybrid work model - 2 days work from home
Travel: Yes - 25% (Mainly in Durham and Toronto Region. Some periodic travel to locations across Ontario)

Learning Specialist will provide comprehensive consulting and delivery of training, learning and development services. Conduct needs analysis, and evaluate development, learning and training activities to address business changes, performance, and behaviour gaps primarily project based for technology and systems training. Ensure the business has the means to close the gaps for training, learning and development to promote effective and efficient performance.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Deliver training solutions that include elearning design and development, instructorled training demo sessions (virtual), job aids, and selfstudy training guides
  • Partner with senior leaders, HRBP's, and business unit management, provide advice, guidance, and services in the planning of leadership training and development activities
  • Work with the business in identifying learning priorities and development needs with respect to managerial competencies and organizational performance
  • Design and develop learning programs focused on the needs of OPG's managers and leaders to reinforce and further develop leadership skills in the organization
  • Translate management and organizational theory into practice through learning programs. Identify target populations for whom programs are intended. Understand development needs, define learning objectives, and develop program models, methods, materials, and content. Test new learning programs with business leaders to gather buyin and validate appropriateness to ensure the programs meet the needs of the business
  • Deliver and facilitate interactive and engaging learning content
  • Monitor and measure learning programs; use various evaluation techniques to determine program effectiveness on an ongoing basis. Adjust to continuously improve and ensure continually aligning learning programs to the needs of the business
  • Report on effectiveness of learning programs, provide ongoing feedback and report on any trends, training issues, and/or concerns as they arise; and
  • Keep informed on developments in learning technologies, best practices, emerging learning and development trends, methodologies, products, and tools. Make recommendations to the business and to the Leadership talent and learning teams, as required.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Development, Psychology, Social Science, Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent is required
  • Course training and knowledge in Adult Learning, Training & Development, eLearning is required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 6 years of progressive experience; focus in learning and development with strong experience and exposure to adult learning
