Position Summary:


The Order Picker is responsible for all functions and paperwork relating to order picking which include but is not limited to recording the movement of product, supplies, materials and equipment to and within the warehouse location.


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Perform order picking, packing and maintain shipping area.
  • Ensure all products being shipped from warehouse are packaged per approved procedures to avoid damage
  • Maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment.
  • Sanitary maintenance of the warehouse once a month involves emptying racks, wiping down the racks and sweeping the warehouse.
  • Daily machine inspection at the start of the shift and report any damage or malfunction to warehouse supervisor and once a week watering the forklift batteries.
  • Pulls warehouse items from the racks based on number, quantity, and quality requirements
  • Ensures that orders are accurately picked by scanning pallet ID and lot code.
  • Stages items correctly for an order according to pallet configuration.
  • Operates Counter balance, Raymond Reach and Walkie and ensures safety regulations are followed
  • Plans and monitors product storage and put away
  • Oversees stock replenishment
  • Monitors stock control systems and processes specific orders
  • Ensures warehouse goals are met
  • Maintains a high level of health and safety standards
  • Shrink wraps products to pallets
  • Packs warehouse orders as necessary & put away balance based on storage condition of products
  • Working in cooler and freezer
  • Operates iPad and scanners so that the proper order is picked and inventory is managed accurately
  • Basic computer skills
  • Performs other general warehouse duties as needed
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.

Education, Experience & Competency Requirements:


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 24 years of order picking/warehouse experience
  • Counter balance, reach truck and walkie licenses are an asset
  • Proficient computer skills are required to work with computerized forms and invoices and to create shipping labels
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities simultaneously in order to meet deadlines
  • Able to work in a fastpaced work environment involving multitasking and have good attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational, decision making and communication skills (both verbal and written in the English language) and ability to meet deadlines in a fastpaced work environment.
  • Ability to effectively understand and follow a variety of guidelines and work procedures
  • Positive attitude and a team player
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Physical requirements include the ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time and carry up to 20 Kg. But not on a continual basis
