$54,290 - $65,148

JOB SUMMARY:


Reporting to the Manager of Marketing and Communications, the Communications Coordinator assists the team of Creative Saskatchewan (the "Agency") by developing marketing content about the Agency's services on a variety of platforms and mediums.

As a team player, you'll be pleased to lend a hand with a variety of administrative support tasks for the day-to-day operations of the Communications Department and get creative with both digital media content and long-form writing.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

Duties will include, but not be limited to, the following:

Social Media:
Content Creation, Engagement, and Tracking


  • Use platforms such as Adobe Express and scheduling tools to prepare weekly scheduled content (video and static) using preapproved themes in the content calendar.
  • Weekly engagement with industry social media accounts.
  • Monitor traditional and social media, government channels, and stakeholder communications daily for commentary, engagement, reputation risks, and opportunities to share relevant information with the Manger.
  • Track analytics for our digital communication channels monthly for inclusion in communications reports.
  • Organize and maintain content in line with government record keeping guidelines.
  • Assist in the implementation of the agency's IDEA (Inclusivity, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility) strategy.

Creative Writing

  • Write grant recipient success stories.
  • Write program overview articles.
  • Collect and manage client testimonials.

Administrative Support

  • Assist the Manager with developing and updating a broad range of communication materials, including website, social media, newsletters, fact sheets etc. to support the effective sharing of information with key target stakeholders.
  • Work with the Manger to deliver on quarterly communications strategy tactics.
  • Document any agency complaints received.
  • Ensure Creative Saskatchewan staff have all the necessary materials to attend industry markets.
  • Assist in building templates for external facing documents.
  • Deliver approved sponsorship package benefits.
  • Gather files for quarterly government processes.
  • Provide administrative support to special media events.
  • Maintain media contact lists using our media listening platform.
  • Any other reasonable duties as assigned by the Manager.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:


The Communications Coordinator requires knowledge and proven abilities in the following areas to be successful:

  • Must be social media savvy and unafraid of the ever-changing pace of content delivery.
  • Demonstrable social networking experience with genuine interest in content creation, particularly for Instagram, X, YouTube, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
  • Must be a strong writer with examples of previous work.
  • Must be familiar and comfortable with modern office technology, including Outlook, Teams, Zoom, and Microsoft Office Suite.

The following skills would be a significant asset, but can be trained on the job if the applicant does not possess them:

  • Experience tracking social media analytics.
  • Working knowledge of Wordpress.
  • Experience with enewsletter platforms, such as Constant Contact or MailChimp.

The following soft skills are required for this position to be a successful fit into the Communications Department:
