Job Summary
The Warehouse Order Picker is responsible for accurately and efficiently selecting and preparing customer orders in the warehouse center.

This position involves safely operating equipment such as ladders, pallet jacks, and order pickers to retrieve items from designated storage locations.

The Warehouse Order Picker plays a critical role in ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment, contributing to customer satisfaction and the smooth operation of the supply chain.

Major Responsibilities

• Order Selection
• Read and interpret order sheets or pick tickets to determine the items to be picked for customer orders.

• Equipment Operation

• Safely operate ladders, order pickers, pallet jacks, or other equipment to move and retrieve items from storage areas.

• Inventory Management

• Keep accurate track of inventory levels and locations to ensure items are readily accessible for picking.

• Accuracy and Quality

• Pick items according to the specified quantities, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail. Inspect items for quality and report any damaged or defective products to supervisors.

• Packing and Labelling

• Properly pack items in designated containers, ensuring appropriate labelling, and organization for shipment or storage.

• Safety Compliance

• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) and safely handling materials to prevent accidents or injuries.

• Order Consolidation

• Consolidate items from multiple locations into a single order for efficient packaging and shipment.
• Documentation and Record Keeping
• Maintain accurate records of items picked, quantities, and any relevant information required for inventory management or order tracking purposes.

• Cleanliness and Organization

• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including shelving, pallets, and equipment.

• Collaboration

• Work collaboratively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure efficient operations and meet productivity targets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience as an order picker or in a similar role is preferred.
• Familiarity with warehouse operations and inventory management systems.

Skills

• Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order picking and inventory management.
• Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks, lift heavy objects, and stand for extended periods.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory tracking.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Team player who takes direction and works on their own initiative.
