What's the Job?

  • The Strategic Sourcing Lead role is responsible for driving the endtoend strategic sourcing process including portfolio management specifically over a single or multiple sourcing categories (ie. Professional Services, Managed Services and Facilities/Real Estate). This role will lead market analysis, product analysis, category development, sourcing, negotiation, contract development, implementation and administration of goods and services contracts. This role will also lead cross functional teams of internal customers through complex planning and interdependencies necessary for effective sourcing of multiple categories of goods and services, and is accountable for ensuring alignment with Coast Capital's strategic objectives and guidelines and compliance with policies and procedures. The incumbent will drive lowest total cost of ownership and ensure enterprise effectiveness and benefits.

What you'll get to do:


  • Responsible for the full process of sourcing of category including all planning, strategy, research, project management, negotiation and ongoing management of a wide range of goods and services contracts for the category (including Professional Services, Managed Services and Facilities/Real Estate).
  • Implements the processes for the selection, appraisal and management of the sourcing category including methods of research and approach to making strategic recommendations, advising senior management of all potential efficiency gains, cost savings and service improvement options. Includes conducting cost / benefit analysis and feasibility studies.
  • Determines strategic sourcing strategy, identifies required skills, knowledge and abilities and defines roles and responsibilities of project stakeholders
  • In conjunction with the user departments, determines the appropriate sourcing methodology, develops related documents; assists in the preparation of selection criteria, weights and decision matrices; arranges for selective competitive processes and facilitates complex evaluations
  • Manages strategic sourcing project plans: tracking, monitoring, and communicating project progress, requirements, quality measures, controlling of scope, and change control processes
  • Drafts negotiation plans and contracts according to precedent and current legal contract standards; researches and obtains information and material required from a variety of sources. Completes extensive reviews of new contracts and performs ongoing reviews of existing contracts and contract renewal requests
  • Independently, or in conjunction with user departments, interviews suppliers, leads and governs negotiation for optimal commercial and legal terms
  • Develops and drives the processes for sourcing events, requests for proposals, purchase orders and contracts. Follows legal contract standards and applies appropriate clauses including, but not limited to, limits of liability, indemnification, confidentiality, security, audit and insurance.
  • Manages complex information and category product and service requirements, performs market research and analysis, provides optimal cost and benefit recommendations to stakeholders creates estimates and forecasts and identifies cost reduction strategies.
  • Reports on actual costs, negotiation opportunities and overall strategic plan for sourcing, logistics and return on investment (ROI)
  • Maintains strategic sourcing records and prepares summary statistical and information reports
  • Ensures compliance with sourcing and financial policies and procedures so that commercial, financial and service delivery risks are mitigated wherever possible. Ensures compliance to existing contracts and service levels
  • Demonstrates an excellent understanding of the corporate strategies, goals, and objectives by delivering the business benefits defined by them.
  • Builds, optimizes and leads sourcing category portfolio, including maturing the category data, reporting and overall governance

Who we are looking for:


Minimum Job-Related Experience

  • Minimum 7+ years of Job Related Sourcing/Procurement/Vendor Management Experience with demonstrable experience in conducting strategic sourcing events, managing complex product and service contract negotiations and;
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience working within or in support of the sourcing category of Professional Services or Managed Services or Facilities/Admin. Advanced
