Tasks:


  • Hire and provide training for professional and nonprofessional staff
  • Administer programs of membership organizations
  • Administer the programs of nongovernmental organizations involved with social issues
  • Direct and advise professional and nonprofessional staff
  • Establish administrative procedures
  • Manage the operations and activities of social and community centres, correctional facilities and detention centres
  • Participate in policy development by preparing reports and briefs for management committees and working groups
  • Plan, administer and control budgets for projects, programs, support services and equipment
  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the delivery of social and community service programs
  • Represent their respective organizations for the purpose of government liaison and media relations
  • Implement social programs, food and beverage, transportation, and other services
  • Develop social programs, social legislation or proposals
  • Resolve conflict situations
  • Supervisory Experience
  • Refer offenders to community and social services programs
  • Develop policies, procedures and contingency plans to minimize the effects of security breaches
