Tasks:
- Hire and provide training for professional and nonprofessional staff
- Administer programs of membership organizations
- Administer the programs of nongovernmental organizations involved with social issues
- Direct and advise professional and nonprofessional staff
- Establish administrative procedures
- Manage the operations and activities of social and community centres, correctional facilities and detention centres
- Participate in policy development by preparing reports and briefs for management committees and working groups
- Plan, administer and control budgets for projects, programs, support services and equipment
- Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the delivery of social and community service programs
- Represent their respective organizations for the purpose of government liaison and media relations
- Implement social programs, food and beverage, transportation, and other services
- Develop social programs, social legislation or proposals
- Resolve conflict situations

- Develop policies, procedures and contingency plans to minimize the effects of security breaches
