Who Can Apply:
Qualified persons of Indigenous ancestry will be given preference in accordance with s of the Canadian Human Rights Act. Indigenous applicants are asked to self-identify in their cover letter.
Applicants must possess:
- An undergraduate degree in education, linguistics, political sciences, or a related field of study with a minimum of 35 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in education and language initiatives
- A minimum of 35 years of positive experience working with First Nations
- Knowledge and understanding of First Nation Education and language initiatives
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex ideas and information to any audience
- Familiarity of manipulating and analyzing data on management information systems/databases and Excel
- Demonstrated ability to understand and conduct research, analyze statistical data, and interpret and communicate findings in a clear and concise way to a variety of stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience working with First Nations, federal, provincial, territorial, northern, urban, and international governments, and officials
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, teamwork, and judgement
- Demonstrated time management, planning, and organizational skills
- English is the working language although the ability to communicate effectively in French
