Job Description:


SCHEDULE:
This position is for the afternoon shift


RESPONSIBLITIES and ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Product inspection, high range of medium voltage products and low voltage final test, which includes; parts check, connections check, hipotential test, cycling and supporting systems test and customer witness test. All types of Rockwell Automation complex product.
  • Product inspection, low voltage final test medium voltage testing (for various RA products, such as Starters, Drives, RCC, SSB and S&S and various individual assemblies and subassemblies ) Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) testing, which includes; parts check, connections check, hipotential test, cycling and supporting systems test and customer witness test.
  • Lock out tag out of switch gears, tapping transformers for various voltages, inspecting the motors and trouble shooting and repairing Rockwell equipment.
  • Help product development with special tests.
  • Maybe required to assist service groups with product updates, commissioning and breakdowns at the customer's site.
  • Conducts inspection and electrical testing for Medium Voltage Drives and Starters in accordance with Rockwell Production System specifications, including CSA/UL, CEC and ISO requirements. Incumbents also assist with product development by setting up experiments, testing for new products and troubleshooting errors
  • Verify operation of product safety features such as door interlock systems, Kirk Keys and critical electrical clearances.
  • Interpret customer and electrical test specifications and execute product test to ensure compliance to the specifications. This is the last formal quality evaluation prior to shipment.
  • May operate and configure test system to meet requirement of customer and development test specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and correct problems with test equipment and product to allow execution for test procedure.
  • Prepare product performance test reports per engineering and customer requirements that document electrical readings, measurements, and waveforms from various critical points of test procedure.
  • Operate and demonstrate products for customer witness tests and inspections prior to shipment.
  • Develop test procedures as required to aid in new product development and introduction into production
  • Ensure product conformance to bills of material and engineering revisions as well as general mechanical workmanship standards.
  • Accurately report task and times in Factory Talk Production Centre (FTPC) related to work orders and Critical to Quality (CTQ's).
  • Flexibility and adaptability to assume other roles and support other job families as required.
  • May be required to assist, instruct and provide training to other employees.
  • Participates in activities to increase job knowledge, including required training and certifications, job rotation programs and training and coaching of other employees.
  • Participate in Behavioral Based Safety Training and contribute to the program.
  • Participate in LEAN/Six Sigma Training and contribute to and make recommendations for process improvements and LEAN activities.
  • Performs work in accordance with job specific training procedures, follows work aids (DWIs, prints etc.,) and produces work that consistently meets quality standards.
  • Ensure tasks are conducted in accordance with applicable employment, environmental, health, safety, quality, and legislation and or regulations (federal, provincial, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, etc.), as well as Rockwell Automation values, ethics, policies and procedures, 5S requirements and standards of business conduct.
  • Creates an optimal work environment by establishing and maintaining positive and respectful work relationships.
  • All other duties as required and assigned by supervision
