Description

The Screener position is the first point of contact for all individuals entering the AgeCare community and will provide a welcoming, informative, and respectful presence while ensuring screening guidelines are followed with an emphasis on safety and infection prevention and control protocols, in accordance with health authority guidelines.


CORE OUTCOMES

  • Be responsible for greeting and engaging with all individuals accessing the community including residents, employees, visitors and contractors, to ensure their attendance at the community is essential.
  • Communicate established entrance guidelines, and ensure nonessential visitors follow entrance restrictions; this will include ensuring proper hand sanitization and PPE are worn in accordance with Public Health guidelines.
  • Ensure entrance and screening areas are clean, presentable and organized while assisting with sanitizing high touch surfaces. Screening tools will be used by the screener and collected and filed as per AgeCare practices.
  • This role may assist in the portering and coordination and supervision of indoor/outdoor visits between residents and visitors/families.
  • Perform administrative staff with tasks, as related to the role. Including but not limited to, ensuring an adequate supply of screening tools are available, assisting with photocopying, assisting with preparing mailout material and other duties as assigned by administrative staff.
  • Assist Environmental Services Manager with PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) supplies in the nursing areas, as needed.
  • Assist with COVID19 testing, as required and ensure any necessary paperwork is completed.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experiences

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Postsecondary education an asset
  • Must have exceptional English communication skills, both orally and in writing
  • General knowledge of office procedures.
  • Proficient with the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • May be required to obtain and maintain current CPR.
