Site Safety Coordinator - Langley, Canada - Proactive Hazmat & Environmental Ltd.
Description
Reporting to the OH&S Manager, the inside OH&S administrator is primarily responsible for creating Safe work procedures on time and correctly to be presented and displayed on site by the Foreman.
JOB DUTIES:
- Develop SWP templates and assist with site documentation as required by Estimators and Project Managers.
- Update WorkSafeBC and other applicable processes with any new NOP/Changes towards projects
- Coordinate "righttoknow" programs regarding hazardous materials and other substances including but not limited to exposure control plans, OHS Manuals and office equipment.
- Maintain and update emergency response plans and procedures.
- Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.
- Lead/participate in the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee.
- Perform Air monitoring monthly and collect, save and organize the results electronically.
- Monthly check on office fire extinguisher, exits signs and any other safety related issues
- Put together completion letters, scope of work summaries.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
At minimum, this position requires
- Display competency and understand industry and government regulations
- Good people skills interpersonal competencies
- High level of communication skills both oral and written
- Fluent in English
- Good time management skills
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- 3 years in a similar position and industry
- High School Diploma or GED
- Computer Literacy

$50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
