Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Part-Time (or Freelancer) Bookkeeper to join our team and support our financial operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic organization by managing essential accounting functions with precision and integrity. As a key member of our finance team, you will ensure accurate financial record-keeping, assist with reporting, and uphold compliance with accounting standards. This position is ideal for someone passionate about numbers, organized, and eager to grow their expertise in diverse accounting environments.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update financial records using QuickBooks on a weekly basis. You may report to office once a week to do book keeping.
- Perform bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and general ledger accounting to ensure accuracy across all financial statements.
- Prepare journal entries, process accounts payable and receivable, and manage payroll activities in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation to verify the integrity of financial data.
- Support governmental accounting requirements and ensure compliance with tax regulations through accurate recordkeeping.
- Execute double-entry bookkeeping procedures, including debits & credits, to maintain balanced books and facilitate audit readiness.
Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software - QuickBooks
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, non-profit accounting practices, governmental accounting standards, and technical accounting concepts.
- Experience with account analysis, journal entries, bank reconciliation, accounts payable/receivable management, and payroll processing.
- Knowledge of GAAP standards and tax regulations relevant to various organizational types.
- Ability to perform detailed account reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation accurately.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills; proficiency in 10 key typing is a plus.
