    Field Machinist - Journeyman or 3rd Year

    TOMCO Production Services Ltd. provides the following specialty services to our clients:

    • Post Weld Heat Treatment
    • Cold Cutting and Beveling
    • Hydraulic Torquing, Tensioning, and Nut Splitting
    • Coring
    • Hot and Cold Taps
    • Flange Facing and Portable Milling
    Responsibilities and Duties
    • Receive direction from Operations Supervisor on project and daily work requirements.
    • Perform work in a safe manner and abide by company and customer safety requirements.
    • Complete assigned paperwork as required by either customer or company.
    • Properly use and maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles if applicable.
    • Perform machine operations including pump/motor base milling, line boring, RTJ + RF flange faces.
    • Ensure calibration and documentation of all associated gauges and measuring equipment.
    • Be familiar with field machining equipment and the limitations of each piece of equipment.
    • Control and regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut.
    • Estimate jobs to determine the time and materials/equipment required to complete the job safely and efficiently.

    Requirements

    • High school diploma or equivalent, with technical school or college credits preferred.
    • Complete safety-related courses required by customer/clients and company.
    • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with co-workers, supervisors, and managers.
    • Read blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished products.
    • Read, analyze, and interpret isometric drawings and develop equipment requirements from supplied drawings.
    • Interpret various instructions furnished in written and oral formats.
    • Familiarity with various types of field machining tools and equipment.
    • Verify conformance of finished workpieces to specifications.
    • Pass drug and alcohol tests administered by customers and the company.
    • Willingness to work extended hours, shift work, weekends, and holidays.
    • Possess a valid driver's license; Class 3 license is beneficial.
    • Willing to work on out-of-town assignments; travel may be required.
    • Ability to work in various environmental conditions (rain, cold, hot, humid, etc.).
    • Sufficient manual dexterity and physical ability to complete reports and perform field duties, including climbing stairs and ladders.
    • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. as needed.
