    Job Description

    We are seeking a highly skilled Debt Collector to join our team at Linds Associates Ltd.

    The ideal candidate will have a collections background and be a confident, organized, autonomous self-starter who can proactively work on files with the lawyers they support.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Performs all debt collection duties in collaboration with the recovery teams
    • Negotiates settlement agreements on behalf of large organizations
    • Answers phone calls and follows-up on inquiries regarding files assigned by the Supervisor

    Requirements:

    • A minimum of 1-3 years experience working in a similar role
    • Collection agency experience would be an asset
    • Previous experience in a Litigation practice would be considered an asset, but is not necessary
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written)
    • A calm but professional demeanor for dealing with clients regarding their accounts
    • Ability to accurately listen, understand and respond appropriately
    • Perseverance to maintain pressure for payment upon difficult accounts
    • Detail oriented with strong multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to take initiative and work under pressure
    • Ability to work and act independently using good judgment when assessing difficult situations
    • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office
    • Working knowledge of Quickbooks would be considered an asset, training will be provided
