    Under the direction of the Senior Manager of IT Operations and Governance, the IT Configurator is responsible for the daily operations of the AWS platform and applications which includes availability management, change management and incident management. The configurator will be part of an on-call rotation to allow for 24/7 incident management coverage for supporting, core and critical business applications as well as ensuring all production environment changes are deployed according to change management processes.

    Responsibilities

    • Monitor AWS daily operations including platform health, responding to alarms, warnings, and adding new alarms to prevent or mitigate system issues.
    • Address and resolve incidents reported.
    • Participate in complex incident resolution with the assistance of the respective Product team.
    • Implement Production Changes for Projects and Enhancements, this includes preparation, pre-deployment activities, deployment, and post-deployment validation and monitoring.
    • Using internal and external customer feedback, ticket trends and Amazon monthly trusted advisor reports to improve customer experience.
    • Investigate audit findings provided by the Innovapost Security team or AWS security team for resolution or recommendation to maintain and improve platform security.
    • Building relationships with vendors, internal users, and product teams is required to understand the overall impact of changes across all functional teams
    • Identify and propose solutions for continuous improvements with peers and managers.
    • Work with other teams as required to assist in proposing solutions, documenting issues and recommending solutions in Jira along with criticality to determine priority
    • Discussions with internal customers or vendors are required when addressing incidents, service requests, or deploying a change.
    • Explaining proposed solutions and gaining team agreement on the next steps is key for quick resolutions of incident tickets. Qualifications
      • Typically has 3-5 years of experience in related position
      • College diploma or university degree in computer science engineering or closely related discipline
      • AWS certifications (asset)
      • Lean / LSS / Six Sigma, ITIL foundations (Asset)
      • Over 3 years and including 4 years (generally progressive experience)
      • Experienced working in a cloud computing platform with the following skills Java, Python, C#, Data Storage Fundamentals, Networking, Security Foundations, Cloud Specific patterns and technologies, Daily Operations, Change Mgmt., Incident Mgmt., Problem Mgmt.
      • Experience in release / Deployment management
      • Possess good knowledge of system performance management
      • Very knowledgeable in systems change/configuration management
      • Application Configuration, operating systems, and scripting
      • Able to prioritize incidents and engage the proper teams in a timely fashion.
      • Communication with internal and external customers is required when addressing incidents or deploying a change.
      • Ability to work closely with many teams in the event of critical incidents
