We are currently looking for a
Freight Co-Ordinator for our Head office in
Mississauga.

To efficiently provide reliable carrier service to branches and customers so as to ensure the maximum level of customer service.


Essential duties and responsibilities:


  • Obtains carrier invoices from the assigned mail basket and sorts and date stamps with receiving date. Verifies issued rates with master book and general ledger coding to ensure correct billing on invoices. Audits invoices and distributes for processing. Converts currencies to Canadian dollars for invoice payments.
  • Resolves discrepancies on tickets with branches and customers and offers information on delivery. Traces shipments with carriers and requests signatures, receiving dates and proof of delivery and forwards to appropriate destination. Ensures rush shipments and delivery problems are properly administered to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Indicates and logs weight and amount charged on bill of lading. Separates Purolator sales order for furtherance's according to appropriate destinations. Indicates charges on billing copy and distributes to data entry for processing. Files reference copy according to date ordered in the traffic department. Files inbound bills of lading in alphabetical order on a daily basis.
  • Receives carrier spreadsheets containing invoice data. Verifies issued rates with negotiated rates and general ledger coding to ensure correct billing on invoices. Audits spreadsheets and distributes for processing. Converts currencies to Canadian dollars for invoice payments.
  • Confirms carrier EFT payments and provides backup to the Traffic/Customs team.
  • Supports the branches and divisions when they request the onboarding of new carriers. Follows proper procedures and protocols.
  • Creates new carrier invoicing templates to assist with the payment of invoices. Understanding of macros is a requirement.
  • Sorting of weekly/monthly carrier cheques and makes sure they are mailed out on a timely basis.

Requirements:


  • College diploma plus a minimum of one year of relevant experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent communication (Listening and written) and problemsolving skills are required when dealing with internal & external stakeholders.
  • Should be actionoriented, Customer focused and must have skills to manage and measure the business responsibilities.
  • Knowledgeable in current and possible future policies, practices, trends, and information affecting the customs industry.
  • Good time management skills and knows to priorities the work according to business needs.
  • Must follow and comply with all health and safety policies, procedures, and regulations, which can be found in the Rexel Canada Health & Safety Manual.
  • Ensure all employees and contractors are trained and follow all health and safety policies and procedures.
