The opportunity
The Media Technical Support Analyst is a vital role in leveraging TVO's digital first initiatives.

This opportunity will ensure that our employees are nimble and efficient by providing them with the tools and technical support that they need as we move towards new technologies and cloud computing platforms.


How you will make an impact

  • Installation and configuration of different systems, devices, instruments, and electronic equipment used in the operation of a multimedia studio
  • Occasional travel within Ontario to support TVO Today Live events
  • Testing and checking of audio/video equipment, streaming devices, networks, media asset management, transcoders, and all other audio/video equipment
  • Develop, maintain, and deploy OS images to new Mac and Windows computers
  • Configure and deploy mobile devices and peripherals used in fieldbased content creation
  • Perform onsite and remote analysis, diagnosis, and resolution
  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to the above technologies
  • Maintain electronics devices inventory and perform asset management
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Document Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and suggest workflow improvements
  • Script in PowerShell to automate such tasks as data transfer and software deployment

What you will bring to TVO

  • Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma in a relevant field
  • Between three and five years of Broadcast Media based IT experience in an enterprise environment
  • Expertise in the following
  • Digital Media concepts, audio and video transcoding, different video file formats
  • Understanding of TV playout automation, video production switchers
  • Experience with Streaming services
  • Ability to read, write and understand signal flow diagrams
  • Latest Microsoft Windows and macOS platforms
  • Latest Android and iPhone platforms
  • Automated deployment methods
  • Network Fundamentals
  • Cyber Security
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Selfstarter, with ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
