- Under direction and guidance of DES staff and management, assists and supports business units within the division with basic clerical work.
- Assists staff with data entry and the coordination of data requests.
- Assists staff with the basic review/screening of Planning Act, EA legislation, Ontario Regulation permit applications and general inquiries.
- Assists in drafting correspondence, presentations, and reports, while making recommendations for operations/program improvements.
- Assists staff and management with minor studies, basic projects, basic reports, and minor applications.
- Assists Planners with basic follow-up with proponents as required.
- Under the direction and guidance of DES staff and management, provides assistance with field work.
- Assists and/or shadows staff with fieldwork.
- Currently enrolled in, or recently completed, a post-secondary program in Planning, Resource Management, Urban Geography, Biology, Ecology, Environmental Engineering.
- Valid Ontario Class G2 driver's license.
- Ability to deal work professionally with others.
- Ability to comprehend written documentation and procedural guidelines.
- Ability to write clear correspondence.
- Sound time management and organization skills.
- Team player with experience working in a group environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite including online software such as MS teams, WebEx, and SharePoint.
