- Planning and preparation of field trial layouts, maps, ensuring availability of material required for trials timely
- Perform field work including planting, spraying, irrigating, scouting, harvesting and grading of field research plots
- Crop pest and disease assessment and soil and tissue sampling
- Ensure that data collection is recorded according to pre-established methodology and data is processed and interpreted through adequate statistical analysis
- Apply standard quality control procedures to assure accuracy of test results, updating and developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Prepare an Annual, Monthly, weekly and daily activities schedule to organize time and resources required
- Create and manage an annual operational activity plan for the Ag Research program including people demand forecasting, cost management, purchasing of materials and equipment required
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Bachelors in Agriculture/ Crop Science/ Plant Genetics/ Agronomy is required
- Relevant years of experience in Agronomy, Plant Science or any relevant field is required
- Work experience in potato crop is preferred
- Ability and desire to work in a fast paced, team oriented, research environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Experience in the use of Microsoft applications and database programs
