Reporting to the Chief Estimator, the Junior Estimator will be responsible for providing estimating services to support the Project Development and Estimating departments.


Following your time in Operations, as a Junior Estimator, you will be responsible for processing, handlining and distribution of various documents, drawings and tender packages as required by the team.

The Junior Estimator will become a part of the Estimating team environment and complete estimating essentials to benefit the team as a whole.

This may include quantity takeoffs, soliciting trades and suppliers for bid submissions, and updating database pricing.

The Junior Estimator will maintain sufficient knowledge of in-house software to be able to operate all Clark Builders software tools.


Junior Estimator Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Monitor tender documents and facilitate their distribution to subtrades/suppliers as required.
  • Contribute to maintaining contractors/suppliers' relations.
  • Assist in maintaining various databases.
  • Prepare accurate and complete estimates.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and estimates for final approvals prior to their presentation to potential Clients and at bid closing.
  • Take part in project team meetings.
  • Follow up with invited subtrades/supplier to confirm their intentions to quote.
  • Maintain subtrade/supplier contact information.
  • Support Estimators with quantity takeoffs and other tasks as required.
  • Attend tender openings as required.
  • Junior Estimators will be mentored by the Senior Team.
  • Maintain career progression plan.
  • Attend training courses as required by team leaders.
  • Adhere to Clark Builders' policies and procedures.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Ability to manage multiple workflows and tasks concurrently.
  • Ability to prioritize workflows.
  • Ability to manage deadlines for completion of assigned tasks.
  • Comfortable working in a team environment.
  • Adapt to changing job requirements and directions from multiple sources.
  • Ability to navigate software packages would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of scheduling basics would be an asset.
  • Ability to perform accurate quantity takeoffs both manually and electronically would be an asset.
  • Communicate professionally through verbal and written methods.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A Post-Secondary Certificate/Degree in Engineering, or the equivalent of a designated Professional Engineer or a Technical School graduate in a Constructionrelated discipline.Project Coordinator Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Project execution and document control responsibilities including Request for Information (RFI), Site Instructions (SI), Submittals, Change Requests (CRX), Change Orders (CO)
  • Project closeout responsibilities including assisting with inspections, owner training, managing the O&M Manuals, reviewing, tracking and communicating punch and deficiency lists, removing all insurance, closeout of utilities and site services, and removing temporary facilities
  • Maintain the integrity of the QA/QC plan
  • Facilitate, record and compile meeting minutes; follow up on action items
  • Track productivity and performance of the project
  • Project accounting basics
  • Adhere to Clark Builders' policies and procedures and aid others in compliance
  • Support and grow ongoing trade partner and client relationships
